A good example of what makes me happy. Looking into a beautiful wide-open mountain range and watching the clouds roll over is my way of achieving peace. I think everyone who lives in this part of the world knows how much the land effects people. Whether you’re from this area or you moved here, you understand a connection between your soul and this land. The desert is brutal and harsh, but it can also be giving and inspirational.
I do paint from direct observation but this particular piece was done solely by my own thought. You’re looking at a place that existed only in my mind until now. It could very well exist, with similarities to locations from around the area or by certain vibes that recall one place or another, but that is the whole the point, it’s not a specific location, it’s everywhere I call home.
