San Pedro River Arts Council complies with all local, state, and federal laws and regulations concerning civil and human rights.  Our programs, membership, sponsorship and employment practices are free of discrimination based on race, color, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, age, gender or disability.

Every member of the Board of Directors of the Council is responsible for oversight of our discrimination policies.  The President of the Board has the primary oversight role and functions as the coordinator responsible to ensure compliance with the Americans with Disabilities act of 1990 (A.D.A.) as required by Section 35.107 of the U.S. Department of Justice regulations, and to coordinate compliance with Section 704 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as mandated by Section 8.53 of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development regulations.

The Council works hard to comply with the provisions of the Americans with Disabilities Act.  The A.D.A. requires that all programs, services and activities, are readily accessible to and usable by individuals with disabilities.  The Council strives for effective communication with individuals with speech, visual and hearing disabilities.  Materials may be available in alternative formats upon request.

The Council does not have a facility of its own.  Our events are held at venues that are either donated or rented to us for a particular purpose.  The Council looks for facilities that meet our specific needs and are A.D.A. compliant.  Compliance of a facility with A.D.A. requirements is a primary criteria when selecting a venue for an event.  The Council works with owners of the properties we use to address A.D.A. compliance issues recognizing that a compliance issue may not be solvable within time and budget constraints.

Anyone requiring special accommodations may contact the Arts Council by email at accommodation@sparts.org, or call Don at (520) 686-0948, at least one week prior to the event.
